how it's made  |  aks

We carefully choose premium cowhides that is perfect for your modern kicks.  Using vegetable tanned leather that is soft to the touch, and it can be polished to bring out the natural luster of the leather.  The leather is treated with a transparent finish for breathability, while the appearance of its growth mark and veins reveals the beauty of natural leather.
Soft sheep nappa are selected for the lining materials to give a smooth touch and feel.  Leather-lined comfort insoles are designed to cushion your every strides.

The cutting of the leather, splitting them to a specific substance and skiving of the edges are controlled with care.  The upper pieces are stitched together and are reinforced in stress areas.  A thin layer of temperature controlled film are applied to the nappa lining to keep your feet cool and comfortable.

Reinforced with toebox and heel counters, the leather uppers are stretched, and pulled firmly on to the lasts to form its shape.  Rubber outsoles with puncture resist protection are fitted to the bottom to finish the lasting process.   The shoe will rest on the last for another twelve hours in order for the leather upper to further conform to its shape.

True craftsmanship cannot be rushed.  Every pair of AKS are kept overnight on its lasts  to ensure the leather takes its form before they are removed from the shoes the next day.  This important process ensure that the leather is properly stretched to their optimized shape, resulting in a perfect fit and the desire comfort of your AKS shoes.
